Italy faces nationwide transport strikes in July affecting flights, trains and ferries

A series of coordinated labour actions will disrupt Italy's transport network in July. On 21 July, airline staff from EasyJet, UAB Dat Lt and several airport handling firms will strike for a full 24‑hour period, potentially causing flight delays and cancellations. The following days see a maritime protest by Grandi Navi Veloci workers on 22‑23 July, and a national railway strike on 23‑24 July organised by Cub Trasporti and SGB, halting most train services.

Transport operators have announced limited guarantees: long‑distance trains will run according to a protected timetable, while regional services will maintain essential frequencies during peak hours (06:00‑09:00 and 18:00‑21:00). Passengers are advised to check schedules and airline communications in advance of travel.
