Italy hosts forums on sustainable sport and youth rights
Italy is hosting two significant events focused on the social and environmental role of sports. In Catania, the first National Forum of Sustainable Sport will take place from October 15 to 17 at the Le Ciminiere exhibition center. The forum aims to produce a Sustainable Sport Manifesto and national ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) guidelines to align the sporting sector with the UN 2030 Agenda. Topics include low-impact outdoor disciplines, sports architecture, and health prevention.
Simultaneously, in Rome, the National Conference of ANCI (Association of Italian Municipalities) will hold a meeting at the CONI Hall on October 16. The discussion, titled ‘Youth and Sport: Article 33 of the Constitution,’ focuses on the responsibility of cities to promote sports as an accessible right for young people. The meeting will feature high-level participants, including Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi and CONI President Luciano Buonfiglio, to share best practices for creating inclusive and healthy societies through local urban initiatives.
