Italy hosts major sports-themed literary award ceremonies

Italy is hosting two significant literary awards that bridge the gap between sports and culture.

The 7th edition of the Invictus Sports Literary Prize was held at Palazzo Caetani in Cisterna di Latina. Organized by the publisher Lab DFG with support from the Ministry for Sport and Youth, the event was presided over by Luca Pancalli. Emanuele Atturo received the top honor for his book ‘Il mito dei bomber di provincia’, which explores the romanticism of provincial Italian football. Other recognized works included titles by Marco Bellinazzo and Andrea Carnevale.

In Rome, the official presentation for the 12th edition of the ‘Memo Geremia’ Sports Literary Prize took place at the national headquarters of Confcommercio. Organized by Confcommercio Padova, the award honors the memory of the Italian rugby figure Memo Geremia. The prize aims to establish a national presence, building on its history of recognizing prominent figures such as Bebe Vio and Sara Simeoni.
