Italy hosts multiple park and beach clean‑ups on World Oceans Day

On 7 June 2026, several volunteer clean‑up actions took place in Italy as part of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day. Thermore, a global thermal‑insulation company, partnered with the Plastic Free Onlus association to organise a plastic‑removal event in Parco Ravizza, Milan, starting at 10:30 a.m. Volunteers focused on litter and especially cigarette filters, a major source of micro‑plastics.

In Sardinia, the committee “Amici di Talmone e Cala di Trana” led a beach clean‑up along the coast from Cala Scilla to Punta Don Diego. The activity began at 9:30 a.m. at Porto Cuncato and included information sessions on plastic‑pollution reduction. Both events were open to the public and aimed to raise awareness and remove waste from urban and coastal environments.
