Italy hosts multiple public stargazing events in August 2026

Italy stargazing Perseids public astronomy events Tradate

On 1 August 2026 the Centro Didattico Scientifico con EcoPlanetario in Tradate will hold a “Picnic scientifico sotto le stelle”. Families can bring a picnic, attend a talk on “Animals that frighten” and observe the night sky with the centre’s telescopes. Admission is €15 for adults and €10 for youths aged 4‑18; children under four attend free. Reservations are required.

From 10 to 12 August, the Unione Astrofili Italiani (UAI) will run its annual “Notti delle stelle” programme across Italy. The initiative invites the public to watch the Perseids meteor shower, attend expert talks and enjoy wine‑tasting events organised by the Movimento Turismo del Vino (MTV) Italia. The nights aim to engage both adults and children in astronomy education nationwide.
