Italy implements energy utility bonuses for 2026

Various energy subsidy measures have been introduced in Italy for 2026 to assist households with electricity and gas costs.

The Municipality of Pisa has launched a call for a utility bonus, allocating 350,000 euros to support residents. Eligible families must have an ISEE of 20,000 euros or less. The one-time contribution is set at 300 euros per household, with the possibility of increasing to 400 euros if funds remain. To qualify, residents must have already paid their utility bills for the period between January 1 and August 31, 2026. Applications must be submitted online via the municipal platform using SPID or CIE credentials by October 2, 2026.

Additionally, a national extraordinary contribution of 115 euros is being provided to help with electricity costs. Unlike the Pisa municipal bonus, this credit is applied automatically to the electricity bills of domestic customers who were recipients of the social electricity bonus as of February 21, 2026. This measure is intended to supplement, rather than replace, existing standard social bonuses.
