Italy implements fire bans and cancels fireworks due to wildfire risk

Several Italian municipalities have implemented strict fire prevention measures due to heightened wildfire risks. In Lusiana Conco, Mayor Antonella Corradin issued an ordinance banning all outdoor fires, including barbecues, gas stoves, and any form of open flame, even in equipped areas. The ban also prohibits fireworks, firecrackers, and flying lanterns to prevent accidental ignitions during the Ferragosto holiday weekend.

In the Lombardy region, municipalities including Brembate di Sopra and Piario have cancelled scheduled pyrotechnic displays for the August 15 holiday. These cancellations follow an orange alert for forest fire risk issued by the Civil Protection and regional authorities. Similar restrictions were previously applied in Leffe and Spirano to protect environmental heritage and public safety amid dry ground conditions.
