Italy imposes road and metro station closures for July‑August works
On the A1 Milan‑Naples highway, several sections will be closed overnight between 6 July and 10 July to allow pavement work. The San Zenone West service area, the Casalpusterlengo stations (both exit and entry), the stretch between the A22 Brennero‑Modena connection and Modena north, and the Modena north exit will be unavailable. Drivers are advised to use alternative exits at Lodi, Basso Lodigiano, Campogalliano or Modena south.
In Rome, the Lepanto station on Metro Line A will be closed from 18 July to 30 August for a 45‑day restyling. The works include new paving, lighting, signage, accessibility features and flood‑water drainage, funded with €81.74 million. Around 4.7 million annual passengers will need to use nearby Ottaviano or cross the bridge to Flaminio. The station is expected to reopen on 31 August, with final upgrades completed by October 2026.
