Italy inaugurates new community health centre in Corridonia and upgraded 118 emergency base in Marina di Pisa

A newly renovated Casa e Ospedale di Comunità opened in Corridonia, Italy, after a major refurbishment financed by €4.125 million from EU POR FESR funds for seismic strengthening and energy efficiency and €3.08 million from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The facility provides outpatient services such as cardiology, gynaecology and nursing care, as well as a point of access for home assistance, aiming to bring health services closer to residents and ease pressure on larger hospitals. The inauguration was attended by regional health officials, the mayor Giuliana Giampaoli and other local authorities.

In Marina di Pisa, the former Palp building on Via della Repubblica was restored and reopened as the operational base for the 118 emergency‑ambulance service. The project, led by the Pisa municipality in partnership with Farmacie Comunali Pisa and the USL Toscana Nord Ovest, provides permanent space for ambulance crews, improving response times, especially during the summer season. The ceremony featured Mayor Michele Conti and regional health representatives.
