Italy inaugurates new PNRR-funded student housing and school facilities
Italy continues to implement infrastructure projects funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), focusing on education and student housing.
In Urbino, the new “Montefeltro” student residence was inaugurated, aimed at addressing the demand for university housing. This project is part of a larger national plan to create 60,000 new beds over four years, with 33,000 already prepared. The facility includes a 30% quota reserved for high-achieving students with limited economic means through an agreement with ERDIS, while other spots are offered at market rates discounted by at least 15%.
In Fidenza, the Villa Ferro school complex was inaugurated, representing one of 166 new schools built in Italy using PNRR funds. The project, costing 10.5 million euros from PNRR resources out of a total 16.5 million euro investment, replaces the former Ongaro Cremonini school. The new modern facility features laboratories, a library, a canteen, and a gym, designed with energy sustainability and safety standards in mind.
