Italy initiates mosquito control following reported Dengue cases

Health authorities in Italy have initiated mosquito control measures following reports of potential imported cases of mosquito-borne illnesses.

In Carisolo, a resident reported symptoms of Dengue after returning from traveling abroad. Local authorities have scheduled insecticide treatments in public and private gardens and parks near the individual's residence. Residents are advised to close windows during treatments and reduce standing water in private areas to prevent mosquito breeding.

In Berra, the municipality has activated an extraordinary disinfection protocol following a suspected case of Dengue, Chikungunya, or Zika. While clinical and laboratory tests are still pending to confirm the specific illness, the local administration has ordered adulticide and larvicide treatments within a 100-meter radius of the suspected location. The intervention includes door-to-door services in private areas and treatments of public drainage systems to minimize the presence of the tiger mosquito.
