Italy introduces historic enterprise registry and new‑business grants
Unioncamere has opened registrations for a National Registry of Historic Enterprises, recognizing firms that have operated continuously for at least 100 years by the end of 2025 or will do so by the end of 2026. Applications are free and must be submitted by 30 September 2026 for companies already centennial, or by 31 July 2027 for those reaching the milestone in 2026.
The Lombardy regional government, together with Unioncamere Lombardy, is maintaining the 2026 “New Enterprise” programme, offering a non‑repayable grant covering 50 % of eligible start‑up costs, up to €10,000 per beneficiary. The scheme supports individuals establishing a sole‑proprietor activity or newly created micro‑ and small firms, covering equipment, software, furnishings, and specialist consulting expenses, while excluding prior expenses, rent, salaries, VAT and real‑estate investments.
