The Italian State Police Inspectorate announced that the 235th training course for police cadets will begin on 7 September 2026 and run for ten months. A total of 1,650 trainees will attend the program at several academies, including those in Alessandria, Caserta, Peschiera del Garda, Piacenza, Trieste, Vibo Valentia and the Police Judicial, Administrative and Investigative School in Brescia.

The curriculum has been revised from a largely lecture‑based format to a modular system of 36 units that blend legal theory, operational techniques and practical exercises. New emphasis is placed on defence, crime‑scene documentation and first‑response scenarios, with increased hours for practical training and continued front‑line lectures on public‑security law.

The reforms aim to give cadets immediately applicable skills for their future assignments in police units and judicial offices.
