Italy launches electric vehicle charging station bonuses
Italy has launched a new incentive program to support the installation of electric vehicle charging stations in private homes and residential complexes. Managed by Invitalia on behalf of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), the program offers a reimbursement of 80% of eligible expenses.
Individual residents can claim up to 1,500 euros, while interventions in common condominium areas are eligible for up to 8,000 euros. Applications can be submitted online starting September 22, 2026, until January 31, 2027. The total allocation for this initiative is 68 million euros through 2030, with 15 million euros earmarked for this initial period.
Despite these incentives, local data from regions like Fermo indicates that electric vehicle adoption remains low compared to national averages, often due to limited public charging infrastructure and practical mobility needs.
