Italy is advancing its renewable energy sector through the implementation of the Fer X mechanism. Following a decree from the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE) has published operational rules for auctions targeting 27.15 GW of new renewable capacity for plants exceeding 1 MW. Smaller projects under 1 MW will access incentives directly without auction requirements. Vinicio Mosè Vigilante, CEO of GSE, stated that these rules provide the necessary certainty to accelerate investments.

In urban infrastructure, Rome is investing over 110 million euros to modernize its public transport fleet with electric and hydrogen-powered buses. This includes the development of a green hub in Acilia to produce green hydrogen.

In the agricultural sector, Agea is transitioning into a territorial intelligence hub, utilizing 230 terabytes of data to support farmers and protect the 'Made in Italy' brand.

Meanwhile, various security operations were reported across Italy during the Ferragosto holiday. The State Police conducted extensive checks in Rome and surrounding coastal areas, identifying 2,500 people and checking 1,300 vehicles. Local police in Minturno and Numana also reported successful security deployments to manage holiday crowds and ensure public safety.
