Italy launches new Proximity Justice Offices in Reggio Emilia and Augusta

The Italian Ministry of Justice, together with regional authorities, is expanding the network of "Ufficio di Prossimità" – offices that bring basic justice services closer to citizens. They offer free orientation, help with completing forms, and telematic filing of judicial documents, especially for procedures that do not require a lawyer.

The first two offices opened under the program are in Reggio Emilia, housed at the multifunctional Punto Comune on via Turri 25/A, and in Augusta, inaugurated on 1 July at the Palazzo di città. Both offices serve all residents, with a focus on vulnerable groups, and aim to eliminate the need for people to travel to the tribunals for routine matters. "Con questo nuovo servizio azzeriamo le distanze fisiche e burocratiche tra la nostra comunità e l’amministrazione della giustizia," said the mayor of Augusta.
