Italy launches student creative workshops in Anzio and L'Aquila

Several educational and cultural projects are being launched in Italy to engage students through creative workshops.

In Anzio and Rome, Teatro Ivelise has introduced “PLURI LAB – Dal processo alla scena.” This initiative involves 50 to 80 students from Liceo Pablo Picasso and Liceo Emmanuel Kant. The program offers direct experience in the performing arts, covering dramaturgy, acting, directing, costume design, and scenography. It also includes professional orientation seminars to help students understand various careers in theater and cinema.

In L'Aquila, the “Pre-Texts / Geografie di creatività urbana” project has been presented at the Istituto Bafile. Organized by Artisti per il Matta and coordinated by the BACH Center of the University of Chieti-Pescara, the project is part of the L'Aquila Italian Capital of Culture 2026 program. Using a method developed by Harvard Professor Doris Sommer, students will use complex texts as a basis for artistic performances and co-creation to develop critical thinking. The initiative will conclude in December 2026 with an urban performance involving students from the Academy of Fine Arts of L'Aquila.
