Italy marks Carabinieri’s 212th anniversary with ceremonies and exhibitions

In Macerata, Carabinieri provincial commander Raffaele Ruocco led the 212th‑anniversary celebration of the force, also noting the 85th anniversary of historic battles in Libya and the Horn of Africa. The ceremony gathered civil, military and religious officials, university representatives and students. Highlights included a tribute to the President’s recent visit to San Severino Marche, a salute to two young people who offered flowers after a fatal Verona raid, a reminder of investigative work that restores public trust, and a reference to anti‑fraud efforts targeting the elderly.

Meanwhile, in Reggio Calabria the National Archaeological Museum of Magna Grecia hosted an exhibition honoring the Carabinieri. Photographer Daniel Sorza and illustrator Tatiana Pasqualini presented works that portray the daily life, dedication and human side of the police, with Pasqualini emphasizing the role of women in uniform. The exhibit combined photography and illustration to convey gratitude toward the service members.

Both events underscored the Carabinieri’s connection to local communities and cultural life across Italy.
