Italy men's volleyball squad readies for VNL Finals in Ningbo, China

The Italy men's national volleyball team, coached by Ferdinando De Giorgi, has qualified for the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2026 Finals scheduled for 29 July – 2 August in Ningbo, China. After a training camp in Tokyo, the 14‑player squad arrived in China on 27 July and will train at the Beilun Sport and Arts Centre ahead of their quarter‑final match against the United States on 30 July at 09:00 CET. The roster includes setters Simone Giannelli and Riccardo Sbertoli, opposites Yuri Romanò and Alessandro Bovolenta, and a supporting medical and coaching staff.

In the women's competition held in Macao, the Italy women's national team, under coach Julio Velasco, secured the bronze medal after a 3‑1 victory over Brazil in the third‑place match. The team praised its mental resilience and looks ahead to the European Championships, building on the solid performance at the VNL.

Both Italian squads demonstrated strong preparation and competitive spirit as they continue their campaigns in the 2026 Nations League.
