In Osaka, the Italian men’s volleyball squad defeated Cuba 3‑1 (17‑25, 25‑19, 25‑21, 25‑17), securing qualification for the Volleyball Nations League Finals in Ningbo, China, scheduled for July 29‑August 2. Head coach Ferdinando De Giorgi praised the team’s resilience, saying, “It was not simple to win against Cuba… the group reacted and found the right balance.” The win marks Italy’s eighth overall VNL victory and places them fourth in the current standings.

Later in August, Italy will host the FIPAV Cup Men Elite in Messina (August 28‑31), using the event to prepare for the upcoming European Championships. The tournament will feature Italy alongside Cuba, Brazil and Germany, and president Giuseppe Manfredi highlighted its role in promoting volleyball among families and local clubs.
