Italy national basketball teams to play China and Estonia in Trento

The Italian national basketball teams will compete in Trento at the BTS Arena during a double-header event. On Friday, August 21, the women’s national team, coached by Andrea Capobianco, will face China in a friendly match. This serves as a key preparation test for the FIBA Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Berlin from September 4 to 13.

On Saturday, August 22, the men’s national team, led by coach Luca Banchi, will play against Estonia as part of the 12th edition of the Trentino Basket Cup. This match acts as a stepping stone for the men's team ahead of the second phase of the FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers in Qatar.

Following these events, the women's team is scheduled to travel to Paris for tests against France on August 27 and 28 before departing for the World Cup in September.
