Italy offers air conditioning tax deductions and regional grants

Homeowners in Italy can access various tax incentives for installing air conditioning systems. Under current regulations, tax deductions of up to 50% are available for primary residences until December 2026, while other properties may qualify for a 36% deduction. In specific instances, the Conto Termico program may offer contributions covering up to 65% of expenses.

In the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, a specific measure provides up to 2,000 euros to assist residents aged 70 and older. This regional initiative, funded with 850,000 euros, targets individuals with an ISEE below 25,000 euros living in municipalities with a population density exceeding 300 inhabitants per square kilometer. The grant covers up to 50% of the cost for installing a new summer climate control system in homes that currently lack one. Applications for this regional fund can be submitted via the online platform between September 16 and October 14.
