Italy law enforcement conducts series of drug and weapons arrests

Law enforcement agencies across Italy have conducted a series of operations targeting drug trafficking, illegal weapons, and economic fraud.

In several narcotics-related incidents, police arrested individuals for possession and distribution. Notable cases include the seizure of over 800 grams of cocaine hidden in cereal boxes in Quarto, the interception of a drone used to smuggle drugs and SIM cards into a Rieti prison, and the arrest of a man in Ciampino using an electric scooter for distribution. In Rome, six people were arrested after police discovered drugs hidden in car gears and on scooters.

Weapon-related operations led to the arrest of a man in Villabate, where a revolver was found hidden in a kitchen oven, and a woman in Brancaccio who attempted to throw a bag containing two pistols out of a window.

Economic and administrative enforcement included the discovery of an illegal 15-apartment tourist structure in Cirò Marina generating over 50,000 euros in uncertified revenue, and the seizure of 10,000 liters of contraband diesel by the Guardia di Finanza in Salerno. Additionally, an illegal restaurant operating without permits was shut down in Piombino.
