Italy school staff to receive August 2026 pay rise and special arrears
A new national collective agreement for the education sector, signed on 1 July 2026, sets a gross wage increase of about 2.8 % for August 2026. Teachers will see an average gross rise of €143 per month and non‑teaching personnel (ATA) about €107, translating to a net gain of roughly €60‑100 after taxes. The agreement also provides arrears for the 2025‑2026 period: €855 for teachers and €633 for ATA, to be paid through a special issuance expected by the end of August.
The digital payroll platform NoiPA will publish a preview of the net amount between late July and early August, the full payslip between 16‑18 August, and the salary credit on 21 August (the regular 23 August date falls on a Sunday). Over two million public employees will use NoiPA to check their statements. Trade unions, including ANIEF, urge staff to verify their slips for any errors or possible tampering before confirming the amounts.
