The state‑owned Ferrovie dello Stato announced that the Perugia‑Terontola line will be closed to rail traffic from 14 July to 6 September for tunnel maintenance. The suspension affects regional services and the Frecciarossa connection to Milan, which will be temporarily terminated at Terontola, with bus replacements provided along the route. The timing coincides with the Umbria Jazz festival, prompting a statement from the Umbria regional council demanding compensation measures for affected commuters and a proposal to reactivate a regional air link.

Separately, scheduled works at Rome's Trastevere station will modify FL1, FL3 and Leonardo Express services from 30 June to 30 July and in early September. Night‑time trains will skip some stops, such as Quattro Venti, and several services will be cancelled or rerouted onto buses. The changes include restrictions on bicycles and pets on the replacement buses.
