Italy reports improved school retention and stable PISA scores
Italy is seeing significant improvements in its educational metrics. Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara reported that approximately 520,000 young people have returned to the school system since 2022, contributing to a drop in the school dropout rate from 11.5% to 7.3%.
Data from INVALSI also indicates a decrease in implicit dispersion—students who complete their studies without reaching minimum competency levels in subjects like math, Italian, and English—which fell from 8.7% to 6.3%.
