Additionally, the OECD-PISA 2025 results show Italy’s performance in mathematics (468) and reading (474) remained stable and exceeded OECD averages, even as international averages declined. Nevertheless, structural challenges remain, specifically the performance gaps between high schools and vocational institutes and territorial disparities between the North-West and the South.
