Rome Rally adds free health screenings for thousands of participants

The Lazio regional council’s free‑prevention programme “Un Consiglio in Salute” was unveiled on 1 July ahead of the 14th edition of the Rally Roma Capitale. From 2 to 5 July, free medical visits and screenings will be offered at “pit‑stop” health stations across the rally’s 42‑municipality route. Services include mammography, cervical‑cancer tests, colon‑rectal screening, HPV vaccination, blood‑pressure and cholesterol checks, posture assessment, physiotherapy and nutritional counselling. The initiative is coordinated with the Orders of physicians, pharmacists and nurses, local health authorities and the rally organiser Max Rendina. Lazio council president Antonello Aurigemma said, “We must spread the culture of prevention, educating people to healthy lifestyles.” ACI president Geronimo La Russa added, “Sport and health must travel on the same road.” The rally, a round of the European championship, will host about 29 foreign teams and over 100 crews, drawing large crowds in Rome and throughout Lazio, and aims to reach both onsite spectators and millions of TV viewers with the health programme.
