Italy seeks to strengthen industrial presence in Morocco
Italian Ambassador to Morocco, Pasquale Salzano, has emphasized the importance of strengthening the presence of Italian companies in Morocco through new investments and long-term industrial collaborations. Speaking during celebrations for the centenary of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) in Casablanca, Salzano noted that the goal is to create mutual value for both nations.
Morocco is increasingly viewed as a vital economic partner for Italy. Bilateral trade approached 5 billion euros in 2025, with Italian exports growing by more than 8%. The ambassador highlighted potential areas for cooperation, including industry, infrastructure, energy, and new technologies. This initiative aligns with the ‘growth diplomacy’ promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, supporting the national objective to increase total Italian exports to 700 billion euros by 2027.
