Italian Ministry Extends ‘Qualità abitare’ Construction Projects to August
The Ministry of Infrastructure has approved the continuation of construction sites financed under the "Qualità abitare" programme, which uses PNRR funds, allowing residual works to proceed until August. The extension aims to finalize projects such as the Orto Pasqualello, Orto Fontanelle, the former fruit market redevelopment, the ex‑railway yard, and works near the tribunal and Via Pozzillo. Municipal officials report that overall progress is around 80 % and stress that completing the residual tasks is essential to avoid losing the allocated financing.
The approval also covers other ongoing works, including the second phase of the seafront promenade, which will continue beyond the "Qualità abitare" timeframe until December, and the extension for the Via Tevere sites. Authorities remain cautiously optimistic about meeting the deadlines while coping with limited staff resources.
