Italy shuts key A1 motorway stretch and Verona east bypass for overnight maintenance
The A1 Milan‑Naples motorway between Arezzo and Monte San Savino will be closed in both directions for night‑time work on a viaduct. The first closure runs from 22:00 on Monday 27 July to 05:00 on Tuesday 28 July toward Rome, and the second from 22:00 on Tuesday 28 July to 05:00 on Wednesday 29 July toward Florence. Both service areas on the route (Badia al Pino east and west) will be shut, and drivers are advised to use local roads marked with yellow signs or the Siena‑Bettolle SS715 detour for longer trips.
The Tangenziale Est (eastern bypass) of Verona will also be completely closed to southbound traffic between the Montorio‑Roverè interchange and SR11 during the night of Monday 27 July, from 20:00 to 06:00 the next morning, to allow pavement works. On‑site signage will direct traffic onto alternative routes.
