Italy to provide free school books for families with Isee up to 40,000 euros
Italy has announced a new national measure to provide free school books to families, though the implementation has been postponed until 2027. Under the new decree, families with an Isee (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) of up to 40,000 euros will be eligible to receive textbooks at no cost.
The Italian state will invest 20 million euros annually to fund this initiative. Rather than a centralized distribution, local municipalities will be responsible for managing the process. This includes verifying Isee requirements, organizing the delivery of texts to students, and establishing application channels through both digital and traditional methods to ensure accessibility for all families.
