Italy transport strikes scheduled for September

Italy faces a series of transport strikes scheduled throughout September, affecting rail, air, and cargo services.

Rail travel will see significant disruptions on September 7 and 8 due to a 24-hour national strike involving personnel from Gruppo Fs, Mercitalia Rail, Trenitalia, and Trenitalia Tper. Additionally, a strike by Captrain Italia workers is planned for September 10 and 11, impacting rail freight.

Air travel and logistics are also targeted. On September 11, Poste Air Cargo workers will strike from midnight to 4:00. On September 13, security personnel at airports including Rome Fiumicino, Turin, and Varese will hold a mobilization. A major national strike is scheduled for September 30, involving Enav and Techno Sky from 13:00 to 17:00, which is expected to impact air traffic management and cause delays at major hubs like Linate and Malpensa. Localized protests are also noted for Pisa and Florence airports on September 13.
