Italy Treasury announces new bond auctions and reports retail success

The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance has announced the issuance of three new securities in an auction scheduled for October 27. The offering includes one Btp Short Term and two Btp€i inflation-indexed bonds, with a total expected amount between 2.5 and 3.5 billion euros.

The Btp Short Term tranche carries a 3 percent coupon and is set to mature on October 30, 2028. The two Btp€i bonds, designed to protect against Eurozone inflation, have maturities in 2032 and 2035. Subscriptions for these titles are open until October 26.

This announcement follows the recent successful placement of the Btp Valore retail bond, which saw over 560,000 orders totaling 16.62 billion euros. Retail investors have shown significant mobilization in Italian sovereign debt, with total retail-dedicated bonds in circulation exceeding 172 billion euros, representing approximately 6.4 percent of the entire national debt stock.
