Italy U17 women's teams claim wins in volleyball friendlies and basketball World Cup

The Italy U17 women's volleyball squad, coached by Monica Cresta, played four friendly matches against Brazil in Castelnovo de Monti on July 7, 8, 10 and 11, winning all four encounters. The scores were 3‑0 (25‑13, 25‑20, 25‑21), a five-set 3‑2 win, another 3‑0 win and a five‑set 3‑2 victory, with Italy recording 26 blocks and 49 attack points across the series.

Meanwhile, the Italy U17 women's basketball team secured its first victory at the World Cup in Brno, defeating Egypt 60‑49 in the final group‑stage game. After earlier losses to Canada and New Zealand, the Italians rallied behind top scorer Isabel Hassan's 17 points, supported by Sablich (12) and Magni (9). Coach Buzzanca’s defensive strategy limited Egypt’s scoring, allowing Italy to finish the match with a ten‑point margin and advance toward the knockout round.
