Italy Under-20 women reach historic World Cup semifinals

The Italy Under-20 women's national football team has reached the semifinals of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup for the first time in history. Playing at the Arena Sosnowiec in Poland, Italy defeated South Korea with a 3-1 victory in the quarter-finals.

Karen Appiah Amoakoah led the Italian side with two goals, scoring in the 16th minute and again in the 48th minute. Paola Fadda secured the win with a third goal in the 63rd minute. South Korea managed to equalize in the 43rd minute through a goal by Lee Hae-Un.

Following the match, head coach Nicola Matteucci dedicated the victory to the late Sandro Mazzola. The team will advance to the semifinals on September 23, where they will face the winner of the match between Spain and Brazil.
