Primož Roglič wins European individual time trial title

At the European Cycling Championships in Slovenia, Primož Roglič secured his first career Elite individual time trial title. Competing on a 22.1 km course in Senčur, the 36-year-old finished with a time of 28:16, beating France’s Bruno Armirail by seven seconds. Roglič noted that his radio malfunctioned shortly after the start, but he managed to complete the race successfully.

In the women’s Elite individual time trial, Marlen Reusser of Switzerland claimed the gold medal. She finished 23 seconds ahead of the Netherlands’ Demi Vollering, who took silver. Vollering admitted that her mental focus had waned following her recent road race victories. Juliette Berthet of France took the bronze.

Italy saw significant success in the mixed team relay events. The Italian junior team won the gold medal, while the Elite mixed relay team secured silver, finishing behind France. Azzurra Ballan stood out as a key performer, earning gold in the junior women’s road race and silver in the mixed relay.
