Italy achieved multiple successes at the European Cycling Championships in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In the men's elite individual time trial, Slovenian Primož Roglič secured the title on home soil in Šenčur with a time of 28:16, finishing seven seconds ahead of France's Bruno Armirail. Roglič, who noted that his radio malfunctioned shortly after the start, secured his first career Elite European title. Maxime Decomble of France took the bronze medal. While Spain saw continued success in junior and U23 categories, Iván Romeo finished tenth in the elite men's event.
