Italy women's volleyball beats Poland in five-set win in Genoa

Italy's senior women's volleyball team defeated Poland 3‑2 (26‑24, 18‑25, 25‑22, 22‑25, 15‑11) in a tightly contested match in Genoa, securing the AIA Aequilibrium Cup Women Elite trophy and their third consecutive friendly victory. Coach Julio Velasco fielded a lineup of Carlotta Cambi, Merit Adigwe, Ekaterina Antropova, Stella Nervini, Linda Manfredini, Dalila Marchesi and libero Eleonora Fersino. Antropova led the scoring with 20 points, while Nervini added 18 and Manfredini contributed 10.

After the win, libero Eleonora Fersino praised the team's resilience, saying they “know how to win even in difficult moments” and emphasized the need for patience as they adapt to broader responsibilities on court. The victory bolsters the squad’s confidence heading into the Nations League, which begins on 3 June.
