Italy's 2026 Ecobonus offers up to 50% tax credit for shutters and blinds
The 2026 Ecobonus in Italy provides tax deductions for the installation of window shutters, blinds, and other solar shading systems that improve building energy efficiency. Deductions are 50 % of qualifying expenses for primary‑residence properties and 36 % for other buildings. The amount that can be deducted is capped based on the taxpayer’s income – up to €14,000 for incomes between €75,000 and €100,000, and €8,000 for incomes above €100,000, with higher limits possible for dependents or disabilities.
Eligibility extends to owners, usufruct holders, tenants, co‑owners, cooperatives, professionals, public entities and family members, including cohabiting partners. Deductions are claimed over ten years through the personal income‑tax return, requiring that payments be made by bank or postal transfer with the appropriate reference and that all purchase and installation documentation be retained. Eligible products must meet technical standards such as UNI EN 14501 and be installed in compliance with national building regulations.
