Italy's A4 Milan‑Brescia highway imposes night closures and summer traffic plan

The A4 Milan‑Brescia highway will close the Trezzo toll station from 21:00 on 20 July until 05:00 on 21 July, and the Capriate station from 21:00 on 21 July until 05:00 on 22 July, to allow safety‑barrier inspections. Vehicles over 20 tonnes must use alternate stations (Cavenago or Dalmine) because of a 20‑ton weight limit on the Adda River bridge.

To ease congestion during the 2026 summer travel period, Autostrada Brescia‑Verona‑Vicenza‑Padova has published a traffic‑management plan. It highlights five peak‑travel dates – Fridays 24 and 31 July, 14 August for departures, and 28 August, 4 September for returns – recommending drivers adjust departure times. Construction work will be paused on weekends until 7 September, and additional toll‑gate staff will be deployed at key exits such as Brescia East, Desenzano, Sirmione, and Piovene Rocchette.
