Italy's Carta Dedicata a te: 500 euro food aid starts November 4

Italian municipalities have begun publishing beneficiary lists for the 2026 'Carta Dedicata a te' program. This initiative provides a 500 euro prepaid card via Poste Italiane to assist families with essential food purchases.

Beneficiaries are automatically identified by INPS based on specific criteria. To qualify, households must reside in Italy, have all members registered in the resident population registry, and possess an ordinary ISEE of no more than 15,000 euros. Priority is given to households with at least three members and lower ISEE values. However, families already receiving certain social supports, such as the Inclusion Allowance, the Shopping Card, or unemployment benefits like NASpI and Cassa Integrazione, are excluded.

The first 500 euro credit is scheduled for activation on November 4, 2026. The program is also confirmed for 2027, with an additional 500 euro credit expected in April, potentially totaling 1,000 euros over the two-year period. To protect privacy, municipal lists often use the DSU protocol number rather than names for verification. Some participating supermarkets also offer an additional 15% discount for cardholders.
