Italian pension August 2026 payments include tax refunds and adjusted dates

The Institute for Social Welfare (INPS) will adjust the August 2026 pension payment to reflect the outcomes of the 730 tax return. Pensioners whose 730 filing shows a tax credit will receive the refund directly on the August payslip, while those with a tax debit will see a withholding amount deducted. INPS has introduced a new layout that lists refunds and withholdings as separate line items for clarity. Payment dates differ by disbursement method: amounts credited through Poste Italiane will be effective on Saturday 1 August 2026, whereas payments to bank accounts will be posted on Monday 3 August, the first banking day of the month. The changes apply to all retirees who submitted their 730 for the 2025 fiscal year and for whom INPS is the withholding agent.
