Italy’s July storms cause €1 million+ damages and trigger bank relief loans

Heavy rain on 15 July in Carpi, Emilia‑Romagna, produced damage estimated at €1,162,969 to public assets, including fallen trees, broken street lighting, water infiltration at a kindergarten, a tennis club, a rugby field and the historic Palazzo dei Pio. The municipal technical office sent the assessment to the regional civil‑protection agency to support a possible emergency declaration.

Following severe storms on 21 July that struck the Marche and Abruzzo regions, Carifermo bank launched a package of subsidised loans for affected families and enterprises.
