Italy's Labour Ministry presents 2025 workplace safety report as CISL flags widening gender gaps in Romagna jobs

The Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policies delivered its annual "Relazione sullo stato della sicurezza nei luoghi di lavoro" for 2025. The report, required by Article 14‑bis of Legislative Decree No. 81/2008, outlines the previous year's accident statistics, evaluates existing safety measures, and sets out the government's legislative and preventive programmes aimed at improving worker protection.

The CISL trade union released its yearly labour‑market analysis for the Emilia‑Romagna region, highlighting persistent gender disparities. Regional employment among men (20‑64 years) stands at 84‑3 % versus 69‑6 % for women, with gaps up to 20.5 points in Rimini. Youth unemployment (15‑24 years) surged to 17.4 %, and female inactivity remains high at 35.4 % in Ravenna. The report warns that recent job growth chiefly benefitted men, while women faced stagnant or worsening employment conditions.

Both documents underscore ongoing challenges in Italy’s labour market, from workplace safety to gender inequality and youth joblessness, prompting calls for targeted policy interventions.
