Lombardy advances PNRR projects and launches housing‑social programme

Lombardy has completed 1,564 of the 2,585 projects funded directly by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), representing 60.5% of the total and 73.4% of all regional interventions. Over €3.4 billion is managed by the region, with an additional €400 million from the complementary‑investment fund supporting 169 further projects. Investments cover all five PNRR missions, notably digitalisation, ecological transition, health (€2 billion), and energy security (RePowerEU).

In parallel, the regional housing‑social plan, backed by the PNRR, earmarks more than €114 million to refurbish about 3,000 dwellings, of which 450 are already completed. The scheme targets families with ISEE between €14,000 and €40,000, essential workers, students and vulnerable groups, offering rents below market rates. The plan was presented to the European affairs minister, who praised it as a model for other regions.

Both initiatives illustrate Lombardy’s effort to sustain the momentum created by the PNRR, aiming to preserve investment continuity and address housing affordability while boosting digital, ecological and health infrastructure.
