Italy's Police Swears in 195 New Cybersecurity Officers in Cesena
The head of Italy's police, Prefect Vittorio Pisani, attended a ceremony at the State Police Training Center in Cesena where 195 trainees took the oath as vice‑inspectors technical specialists in cyber security. The event, attended by senior police and local officials, highlighted the strategic importance of protecting the nation's digital infrastructure as society becomes increasingly digitalised.
The nine‑month course was the first fully dedicated programme for cyber‑security vice‑inspectors, combining legal training with advanced technical studies in partnership with universities and industry. The newly sworn officers will now be assigned to police units across the country to begin operational internships, bolstering Italy's capacity to combat cybercrime and defend critical networks.
