Italy's SS 372 road works near Campobasso cause long traffic jams

Road works on state highway SS 372 near the Campobasso interchange have created severe congestion. Queues stretch up to five or six kilometres toward Benevento, while the Caianello direction sees only a few hundred metres of delay. Drivers complain that the works were not announced in advance and that traffic management relies solely on an "intelligent" traffic light, which the local Committee S.o.S. 372 says is insufficient without human control.

The committee, chaired by lawyer Maria Pasqualina Renzi, urges ANAS to deploy traffic personnel and improve flow, especially as the works are scheduled to continue at least until Saturday 8 August, coinciding with the summer travel peak.
