Italy's State Property Agency Announces Sale of 20 Historic Buildings

The Agenzia del Demanio has launched a public tender for 20 state‑owned properties spread across ten Italian regions, including Calabria, Emilia‑Romagna, Friuli‑Venezia Giulia, Lombardia, Marche, Puglia, Lazio, Sicilia, Toscana and Umbria. The assets comprise lighthouses, former monasteries, historic palaces, ex‑military barracks, decommissioned prisons and an air‑raid shelter.

Three concession models are offered: twelve properties for long‑term “valorizzazione” contracts, six for temporary use ranging from six months to six years, and two concessioni agevolate reserved for third‑sector entities for up to 50 years. Notable sites include the ex‑monastery of San Francesco d’Assisi in Stilo, the former Casa del Fasci di Ardore, the ex‑Guardia di Finanza building in Roccella Ionica, the Palazzo della Posta in Piacenza, lighthouses at Punta Cavazzi (Ustica), Gelso (Vulcano) and Riposto (Sicily), and the ex‑prison in Gallina (Reggio Calabria) earmarked for the “Turismo Accessibile 4All” inclusive tourism project. Bids for valorizzazione must be submitted by 12:00 CET on 11 December 2026, while offers for temporary use and third‑sector concessions close on 20 October 2026.
