Dominican Republic educational institutions hold major graduations and expansion announcements

Several major educational milestones were recorded in the Dominican Republic during late October 2026. The Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA) held its XXI Ordinary Graduation, awarding degrees to approximately 595 new professionals. ITLA Rector Jimmy Rosario Bernard emphasized the necessity of integrating technology and artificial intelligence into education to meet labor market demands, noting an employability rate exceeding 90% for graduates. The institution is also expanding its curriculum to include semiconductors, microelectronics, and digital animation.

At the Instituto Politécnico Loyola, 272 technical graduates were honored during its 68th graduation ceremony. During the event, Rector Father José Victoriano announced the creation of a new Loyola Polytechnic center in Azua, an initiative attributed to President Luis Abinader. The President urged graduates to combine academic excellence with strong ethical values to support national development goals, such as the Meta RD 2036 strategy.

Other regional academic activities included the graduation of 438 professionals from the Universidad Católica Tecnológica de Barahona (UCATEBA) and the 46th anniversary of INFOTEP, where Archbishop Tomás Morel Diplán highlighted the role of technical training in social transformation.
